Episode 8 | Seattle, Washington
Today we’re exploring Seattle Washington. Seattle is located in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States. It is the largest city in the state of Washington and is known for its beautiful natural surroundings, diverse culture, and vibrant arts scene. I was grateful for the opportunity to travel to Seattle for Work. I hadn't been since I was a kid. Seattle is a city with a lot to offer, both in terms of its natural beauty and its urban attractions.
After flying from Buffalo to Chicago and then on to Seattle, I was ready to hit the ground running, and though my schedule was tight, I made sure to take a few hours to get out and explore the city. Seattle is such a unique and vibrant place, and I was excited to see as much as I could during my visit.
After checking in, I headed straight for Retro Coffee, a small artisan cafe located conveniently next to the hotel I was staying at. The cafe lived up to its reputation and had a great selection of coffee and pastries. The atmosphere was cozy and intimate, and it was the perfect place to start my day. From there, I set off to explore the city.
I headed straight for Pike Place Market, one of the city's most iconic landmarks. the oldest continuously operating farmers’ market in the United States, having been in operation since 1907. The market is a popular tourist destination and is known for its fresh produce, seafood, and other local goods.
At Pike Place Market, you can find a wide variety of food vendors, restaurants, and specialty shops. There are also street performers, musicians, and other entertainers who add to the lively atmosphere. In addition to its many food and shopping options, Pike Place Market is also home to a number of local artisans and craftspeople. You can find everything from handmade jewelry and clothing to pottery and other crafts.
One of the most popular activities at Pike Place Market is watching the fishmongers throw fish at each other at the seafood stalls. This tradition dates back to the market's early days and is a fun spectacle for tourists and locals alike. The market has been operating since 1907 and is known for its fresh produce, seafood, and other local goods.
Also located within Pikes Place Market is the Original Starbucks Cofee Location.
The Original Starbucks Coffee Shop is a historic landmark located in Pike Place Market in Seattle, Washington. It is the first location of the Starbucks coffee chain, which has now grown to become a global phenomenon. The Original Starbucks Coffee Shop is a popular tourist attraction and is visited by millions of people each year. The Original Starbucks Coffee Shop is much smaller than most modern Starbucks locations, but it still serves the same high-quality coffee and espresso drinks that the chain is known for. In addition to its drinks, the store also sells a variety of pastries, sandwiches, and other food items.
Despite its small size, the Original Starbucks Coffee Shop has a special place in the hearts of coffee lovers around the world. It's a must-see destination for anyone visiting Seattle and is a testament to the enduring popularity of the Starbucks brand.
Sadly, during my visit, the store was closed for a team event and I did not get the opportunity to head inside.
After exploring the market, I made my way down to Miners Landing.
Miners Landing is a popular destination located on the waterfront in downtown Seattle. It is home to a number of shops, restaurants, and attractions, including the Seattle Great Wheel, a Ferris wheel that offers breathtaking views of the city and the surrounding area. In addition to the Great Wheel, Miners Landing also has a number of other activities to enjoy, such as an arcade and a carousel. There are also plenty of places to grab a bite to eat, including seafood restaurants, coffee shops, and ice cream parlors.
The views of the city and Puget Sound were stunning, and it was a great place to relax and take in the sights and sounds of Seattle.
After a full afternoon of exploring, my team and I made our way to Palisade, located in Elliot Bay.
Palisade is known for its stunning views of the bay and the city skyline, and it was the perfect place to end a full day of exploring. The food at Palisade was top-notch, and we were treated to a delicious meal. The service was also excellent.
After dinner, we headed out to the patio and enjoyed the beautiful views of the city.
Overall, it was a great trip to Seattle. While the primary focus of my trip was for work, I was glad to be able to explore a bit of the city, while also bonding with my work colleagues.
Unfortunately, as these things often go, I ran into some technical issues with my memory card and ended up losing a lot of the footage that I had filmed. It was a disappointment, and there was a lot of stuff that did not make the video, but thankfully I was able to go back and recapture some of the footage.
Other highlights of the trip included team building at The Garage, exploring the First Hill area, and an amazing meal at Stella.
Overall, my trip to Seattle was a great success, and I'm already looking forward to the next opportunity to visit this amazing city.
